PLANNER- 2007 Organised at Gauhati University, Guwahati

INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad has organised PLANNER-2007 in collaboration with Gauhati University at Guwahati during December 7 to 8 , 2007. In this conferecne more than 300 library and information professionals from different parts of India have participated in this convention.

PLANNER stands for "Promotion of Library Automation and Networking in North Eastern Region of India" It is a annual convention organised especially for the LIS professionals of the North Eastern Region of India to promote the Automation and Networking of university libraries located in the North Eastern Region of India under INFLIBNET Programme.

Prior to this four conventions were held at NEHU, Shillong, Manipur University, Imphal, Assam University, Silchar and Mizoram University, Aizawl respectively. PLANNER is gaining popularity amongst the LIS professionals not only in India but also in neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and also in U K. Participants from abroad are also participating in this convention.

As myself (Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha) working in Assam university as Assistant Librarian, I got an opportunity to participate in these conventions and out of five conventions, I have attended three conventions at Shilong, Silchar and Aizawl and presented my research papers . These papers have also been published in the Pre-Conference Volume which may be accessed at dspace@inflibnet.ac.in .
